Tidak ada sineas yang dapat menulis dan membuat film seperti Quentin Tarantino lakukan selama 20 tahun karirnya. Tidak ada sineas yang dapat menggabungkan cita rasa seni, kualitas dialog dan segala unsur campy dalam film-film cult murahan menjadi sebuah suguhan presentasi yang begitu lucu, thrilling, sadis, fresh, unik, berkelas, dan indah--mungkin hanya Robert Rodiguez yang nyaris bisa menyamai Tarantino. Tidak ada pula sineas yang sanggup mendongengi penontonnya dengan kisah sederhana mengenai balas dendam segila, semenarik, seintens, dan seepik film-film Tarantino. And frankly, semua kehebatannya itu masih terangkum rapi dalam film terbaru besutannya, Django Unchained, yang mendapatkan lima nominasi Oscar tahun ini termasuk di antaranya adalah film terbaik dan naskah terindah.
A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD

Franchise Die Hard memang susah mati. Fanbase-nya banyak, nama Bruce Willis sebagai juga masih besar, dan pencapaian franchise ini di tangga Box Office tidak pernah mengecewakan para petinggi Fox. Jadi hanya tinggal menunggu waktu saja sebenarnya untuk dapat menyaksikan kembali petualangan McClane di bioskop.
I don't know what's in Fox executives' mind.
First, they used John Moore, the guy behind Max Payne messes (surprisingly, also produced by 20th Century Fox) to direct the fifth installment of their valuable franchise : Die Hard. And it's also a mess too (wait for my review). And now, they want Paul Walker, yes that PAUL WALKER, to be AGENT 47 in Hitman movie reboot. Oh god, that is the most ridiculous casting choice ever! I think they don't even really want to make a good game-to-movie film at the very beginning. I still can't imagine how they figured out that Paul Walker, bald and clean shaven, is the best choice to be that heartless guy with silver barrels. Jason Statham is obviously the best choice to be Agent 47 and I guess the Fox guys still don't know him.
As a big fan of Hitman games, I won't give them my blessing as it will turn out to be the film that they want to reboot at the first time, or even worse. And I doubt that any fans out there won't agree with me. They should open up their mind. Game-to-movie adaptation is all about fans, and they should be pleased if you want your movie sitting at the top of the box office chart.
Oh, I could see Fox announcing Hitman reboot as a PG-13 film.

Anyway, tomorrow is a good day to die hard. But it is definitely more than that. I mean, did you recognize that our theaters are full of old fashioned action films with legendary action stars staring at it? Yes, you got Chow-Yun Fat and Sammo Hung in The Last Tycoon, Jackie Chan in Chinese Zodiac, Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Last Stand (ah, "The Last" again), Jason Statham as Parker (Statham isn't a legend, but Parker is definitely an old-fashioned action film, so he joins the gang), and then Bruce Willis and his Spartacus-alumni son in A Good Day to Die Hard.
Well, if you thought tomorrow is gonna be just an ordinary day, think again. It's the first time ever in history of mankind, okay that's hyperbolic, that every living legend (well not every, but most of it) is returning to the big screen and do what they are very good at (swearing, killing bad people with STYLE, etc). Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head are also coming to our theaters soon enough before you can say "Awesome".
It feels like Thor 2, Captain America 2, and Iron Man 3 playing at the same time. IT'S EPIC for your mom and dad and for those who have grown up with old-fashioned action films.

Kalau Marvel memiliki The Avengers dengan aksi-aksi solo para superhero-nya, maka Sylvester Stallone dan kawan-kawannya, bintang aksi era 1980-1990an, secara kebetulan juga mempunyai The Expendables sebagai ajang pembuktian bahwa mereka masih ada dan masih memiliki keahlian melepas nyawa musuhya layaknya mesin pembunuh tanpa ampun.
